Apple iPad, iPhone Expected to Boost Quarterly Numbers

“We have raised our gate and EPS estimates modestly, largely to account for higher-than-expected iPod ASPs, due to continued resolution in iPod Touch sales,” A.M. (Toni) Sacconaghi Jr., an analyst with Bernstein Inquiry, wrote in an April 14 research note. “While several opportunities prevail (including iPad sales, gaming revenues, enhanced Apple TV), we assume that the biggest opportunities remain centered around further penetration of the iPhone, including broadening deployment to other carriers and a lower priced, non-data plan iPhone sacrifice.”

Sacconaghi expects net shipments of 7.3 million iPhones for the barracks, along with sales of 3.1 million Macs. However, the analyst also predicts a 10 percent year-over-year abatement in overall iPod unit sales, despite continued furnish demand for the iPod Touch.  

Other analysts concurred that the iPhone could pursue to drive Apple revenue upwards for the foreseeable future.

Publishing venture bets on iPhone short stories

Ether Books will set afloat at the London Book Fair on Monday, and will offer a catalog of quick stories, essays and poetry initially via Apple 's iPhone and iPod Abut, by authors including Alexander McCall-Smith and Louis de Bernieres.
